Our Story

Farmers Corner has been involved in the tourism industry since 1984, both as a NZ product retailer and refreshment stop for hundreds of thousands of international inbound tourists. Originally we were located in the heart of Ashburton near the iconic Ashburton Clock Tower. However due to a growing number of daily visitors to our shop with limited street parking, we have invested substantially in our new and current location which opened in August 2004. This allows us to cater for more visitors with ease and enables us to offer a variety of services to our customers. At present, we are a retail and restaurant complex located 10 minutes south of Ashburton. We provide a one stop shop for a large collection of premium New Zealand products and specialty souvenir items. We offer refreshments and meals for international inbound tourists and locals. Our complex is spacious and situated in a tranquil atmosphere with a scenic ambience and views o the Southern Alps. The domesticated Alpacas offer on attraction to tourists where a close encounter of nut feeding and up-close photos with these gentle animals is definitely an unforgettable moment to their visit. We look forward to your stopover at Farmers Corner as you explore the best of New Zealand.

Location

Our location gives us the ability to mix all nations together, with a separated café from the retail area and a relaxed friendly environment set in a rural location approximately 1.5 hrs South of your Christchurch hotel, which is perfect timing for toilets and a refreshment stop.
